Kaya Magnesia Hotel Spa & Wellness

The spa is a closed area where people are allowed to smoke, and they don’t even keep the AC on. When I come to train, I have to ask for it to be turned on, and about 90% of the time I’m told it’s “broken.” The worst incident happened when I was swimming. I hadn’t noticed it was 11, then suddenly all the lights went out while I was still in the pool. I yelled, but the staff member, Söner, didn’t turn them back on. He just kept shouting that it was 11 and the lights were being switched off. I asked for five minutes to get my things and shower, but he wouldn’t listen and told me to take any complaint to reception. I went there wet and wearing my swimming shorts. Söner followed me and repeated the same thing. I said I was trying to speak to the receptionist, as he’d told me to, and asked him not to interrupt. He still wouldn’t let me talk. Eventually he left and the receptionist apologized. I went back down for my things and could barely see to collect them in the dark. I also asked reception for the manager’s office number or extension, but they didn’t have it. I left my number and hoped someone would call so I could explain what happened. Nobody did. Two days later I called reception, and was told they couldn’t give me the manager’s number and he couldn’t call me, and that I should tell the story again. It felt like the whole thing had simply been forgotten. This doesn’t feel professional. They let people smoke in non-smoking areas, turn the lights off without checking whether someone is still in the pool, which is a safety hazard that could make someone panic, and promise a call that never comes.
