Pilos Suites Hotel

The beach walk is a pleasant bit of exercise before settling into the sun loungers with frozen cocktails and snacks. On the way back, though, the sun can be fierce on the climb, so the shuttle is a better choice. Pilos is a cozy, well-designed boutique hotel, with clean buildings and lots of thoughtful planning. The team is sweet and welcoming, and most speak English very well. There were a couple of small maintenance misses, like the trash not being taken out and no body lotion, but those things were manageable. The beach and pool restaurants keep the food simple, which works well. We loved the goat cheese risotto. There are also plenty of local places along the walking street and beach walk. I’d probably avoid high season, but early summer or fall makes for a lovely break. The sea was perfect and felt restorative. I had an amazing time here with my Dad, which helped us get through a tough period. Thank you.

With kids, moving around the hotel was hard. The many steps and narrow paths made it difficult to use a stroller, and accessibility for disabled guests also seems lacking. The children’s pool is small, far from the main pool, and uncomfortably hot. It also doesn’t have the better bar and server service available at the main pool, which children can’t use. The location is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff were amazing and served us so well. I also saw lots of influencers promoting the place, but their reviews seemed a bit misleading to me. Without children, I’d have given it five stars for the location, staff, and rooms. As a family, though, we found the experience challenging, so three stars feels right.

The hotel is a long way from the city, and the beach was a disaster, nothing like the photos. The rooms were OK, but the price didn’t feel justified by what you get. The Instagram, TikTok, and booking.com pictures don’t match the place.

The private beach has lovely bars and seating areas with beautiful decor. Both the beach and pool bars made phenomenal cocktails using ingredients grown on the property. The rooms are extremely clean and decorated in calming colors, with a contemporary and boho mix that keeps you close to nature without giving up comfort. The grounds are well maintained, with flowers, trees, and beautiful views, and the staff are very polite and considerate. I’d recommend the place to families with children and to couples without kids too.
