Style Star Hotel Cihangir

The breakfast was really bad, and the rooms felt very unsafe. There were no windows, and a pub on the level above the rooms made it extremely noisy. People danced overhead and loud music went on until 2:00AM. This was one of the worst places I’ve ever visited. The government should take it down.

We paid a month before our trip, but at check-in the staff took over an hour to find our reservation. The room was cramped, and the extra double bed we paid for only fit one person. There were hundreds of flies the first night, though fewer on the nights after that. We had paid for a sea view or a quiet street, but our view was of a staircase, and machinery from the kitchen or another hotel area made noise constantly. The listed free spa turned out to cost extra, and breakfast was stale and poor. The front desk staff didn’t make things easier despite our having paid in advance. I’m sorry we spent our money on such a bad stay. This hotel shouldn’t claim four stars. One star would be about right.

The hotel smells strongly of mold, and there’s a constant sewage odor in the bathroom. At night, a nightclub takes over the hotel restaurant and blasts music, while sounds from outside the room come through clearly. The entrance shown on maps from Cihangir is apparently off limits, so you have to go in through the Grand Star Hotel. I definitely don’t recommend this place. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

The food was cold and terrible, with small portions, and the water came in a bottle that was already open and was clearly tap water. The beer was canned and had been bought from a local shop. Loud music made it hard to hear people. A dreadful dining experience, I wouldn’t go here.
