We were four friends on a girls’ trip, staying in a two-bedroom place downstairs. Breakfast was great, and we ate it on the patio outside our “apartment.” In the evenings, we took our dinner and drinks up to the terrace, my favorite spot. I spent time unwinding in the hammock there. We saw the hot air balloons from the upstairs terrace on two of our three mornings. We slept in one morning, so we might have seen them then too. We had some trouble finding the place, but our contact person came down the street to help us and brought a fan when we asked. Very friendly! One shower was better than the other.

The people running the place were friendly and helpful, and we could easily have stayed a few more days. Our downstairs cave apartment was fantastic, with atmospheric rooms, most carved into the rock. There’s a table and seating just outside the entrance, a great place for breakfast. We shared it with the local cats, which my children loved. Upstairs, there are several places to sit on the roof and have a drink or relax.

We enjoyed the fresh bread at breakfast, and everything was clean and good. The staff were friendly and very nice. The house has a lovely atmosphere, with rooms carved into the rock and beautiful furniture. From the rooftop, the view over the valley is incredible.

This was our third stop in Turkey, and easily our best lodging experience. The daily cleaning was as good as at any top-tier hotel, with excellent attention to detail. The showers were very good too, and the shared area had fantastic views.

We spent five nights at Asmali with the family, staying in the beautifully decorated cave suites. Irem and the team made us feel very welcome, with lovely breakfasts and a fire going in the fireplace each evening. It was a wonderful Cappadocia stay, and we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again!
