Les Maisons de Cappadoce

The hotel handled a booking mix-up between our travel agency and the hotel professionally and to our satisfaction, which is rare in Türkiye. Its three-star rating reflects missing amenities such as a pool and restaurant, but the rooms and location for the views are amazing. The atmosphere is quaint and romantic, and breakfast is simple but good. Try for a room with a terrace. I highly recommend the place, and make sure to rent a car in Cappadocia.

The advertised townhouse setup never materialized, and neither did the promised queen beds or a discount. We booked through booking.com for a “3 bedroom townhouse,” described as a townhouse with a shared dining area and queen beds. Instead, check-in gave us three separate, unconnected rooms with twin-share beds. Two rooms shared an outdoor common area with other tenants. When we raised it, staff said the accommodation with common spaces wasn't available and promised to arrange a queen bed for the next day. We said we didn't need the third room, since we were two couples and had booked a townhouse, not three bedrooms; they said they'd find a solution the next day. They didn't. The price advertised for the townhouse is more than 100% above booking the same three rooms separately, so calling it a townhouse feels like a straight-up money grab. There were other problems too. Breakfast wasn't ready at the advertised time one day, so we left late and had to hike in much hotter weather than planned. Another day, they said they'd booked a taxi, but hadn't, with the same result: a later departure and much hotter conditions. Poor service and false advertising. I'd avoid it.

Breakfast was sumptuous on a lovely terrace, and there's another lookout terrace where you can watch the balloons launch in the morning. The hotel itself is stunning, with impeccable accommodations and incredible views all around. Of all the hotels in town, I think it has the best views because you can see into pigeon valley and look back over the town, including Uchisar castle.

If you're tall like me, watch your head around the cave doors, they can hurt you. The rooms have fireplaces, a nice touch on cold winter days, and the staff are very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was good, with enough variety, though I would have liked freshly made gözleme in Cappadocia. This is a place to experience the famous Cappadocia cave hotel concept fully.
