My Story Cave Hotel

My wife and I stayed at My Story Cave Hotel for our honeymoon in Cappadocia, and it made the trip feel even more special. The family running the hotel took wonderful care of us and answered all our questions. We loved the fresh breakfast and our epic cave room. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The owners made us feel so welcome and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. The breakfast was a real treat too, with fresh, tasty local options each morning, all enjoyed with those lovely views. I still remember it. My Story Cave Hotel is in a great spot in Uçhisar. From the rooftop you can see Uçhisar Castle and Pigeon Valley, and the sunrises over the landscape are beautiful. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated, making for a comfortable, cozy place to come back to after exploring Cappadocia. Everything was clean, the service was excellent, and the location worked perfectly for exploring caves and hiking the valleys, or just sitting with Turkish tea. Highly recommended for a memorable stay in Cappadocia.

We booked through Booking.com because of the good reviews, but our arrival was awful. We’d driven for 13 hours with our young daughter and had contacted the hotel beforehand to say we expected to arrive around 1:00 AM. They confirmed that would be fine. The site and Booking.com both said check-in was available from 12:00 PM onward, yet once there, an older man, possibly the manager or owner, came out barefoot, yelling and being extremely rude. He said we could not check in until 2:00 PM the next day. We tried to explain what we’d been told and what the listing said, but he wouldn’t listen. A young man at reception had been kind and helpful, but the older man shouted, swore, pushed me, and told us, “I will not give you the room, come back tomorrow.” Even after we said we’d just made a long drive with a child, he kept yelling and insisted we leave. We felt humiliated and completely disrespected. His aggressive, unprofessional behavior ruined the start of our visit to Cappadocia. No one should be treated like that. I hope this helps other travelers avoid the same mistake. This hotel doesn’t deserve its high rating.

Such nice people and a cozy place. It feels like home here. Their English could be better, but that’s just authentic.
