I’m back here for memories from 20 years ago. The rooms are just as old as I remember, but there’s a wide choice at the open buffet. It isn’t ski-in or ski-out, though the lifts are only 30 meters away. The staff were helpful, many thanks.

Beceren has been known for decades, and the restaurant staff were excellent, respectful, and accommodating. The location is handy for beginners, with easy access to rental equipment and the lifts. But the prices at Beceren Cafe are outrageous. A quick drink between ski runs will probably cost about five times what you’d normally pay. Even staff complain about the pricing and say fewer people come each year. I’ve skied since I was six, and Uludag used to be a local favorite. This time I mostly saw tourists, who seem more willing to pay those prices. We also had a bad experience at reception. At 11 am on December 30th, we asked to check out early and leave our backpacks while we skied the rest of the day. The receptionist was extremely rude and first pointed to a random place on the floor near reception. When I said I wasn’t sure it was safe, he agreed to put the backpack on the floor behind the desk.

We were made to feel at home by the kind staff, who couldn’t do enough for us. The food was plentiful and delicious, and our room was comfortable and clean. It’s perfectly placed for ski hire, lessons, and the lifts. I’d definitely stay here again next time I visit Uludağ.
