We’re just wrapping up three nights here, and it’s been a lovely little summer escape. The views are incredible, the breakfast was amazing, and everyone was so nice. Our cave room was large, with a jacuzzi, a huge terrace, and a small private balcony. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Be aware that not every room has a view. Rooms ending in 5, like 205 or 305, usually do, so ask specifically. The different levels each have a shared balcony. The cave hotel itself is beautifully built, spotlessly clean, and near the township, with lovely architecture. Meals were decent and the waiters attentive. The three-course dinner was a highlight.

The new pool is a lovely addition to this beautiful hotel, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was okay, but dinner was inconsistent: one of our two meals was decent and the other dreadful. The bathroom had no counter space. My biggest issue was the heat. There’s no AC, and my room stayed at 27°C, over 80°F, which was too hot to sleep. Opening the window brought in town noise and cigarette smoke drifting up from reception. Smoking was happening everywhere.

It’s quiet, clean, well maintained, and within walking distance of Urgup town centre. The staff were courteous and efficient, including carrying our bags upstairs. There’s no elevator. Cave rooms are distinctive, but the darkness can feel claustrophobic. The shower has a high step that could be risky for older or disabled guests, and even for shorter people. Mobile signal was weak or absent in some spots because of the cave design, though the wifi was fast and strong. Breakfast options were limited, but that wasn’t a major flaw. A decent stay.

I was unsure at first, especially with better-known hotels nearby, but this ended up being the best place I stayed in Turkey. The rooms are lovely and well equipped, balancing modern comfort with the feel of cave living. The staff were helpful, arranged our tour, and offered services we hadn’t even requested. Since we’re vegetarians, they also prepared meals just for us. Trust this hotel on your trip to Cappay.
