Starmax Ci̇ty Hotel'S Yalova

We spent over two hours dealing with this, then still had to find somewhere else to stay. Nobody there spoke any English, and the rooms smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The listing on booking.com said the hotel was pet friendly, but that wasn't our experience. When the staff member saw our small dog, he said it had to stay in a garden and sleep outside in December. He sent us to another motel owned by the same person, a 30-minute drive away. It was in very bad condition, so we asked for our money back. They told us the refund could only be handled at the Starmax hotel, another 30 minutes back. After an hour of driving and 20 minutes of negotiating, a new receptionist at the Starmax hotel said a refund wasn't possible, even though the motel manager had explicitly said it was. We insisted and waited another 10 minutes while the receptionist made calls, apparently unsure what to do. Then he said he didn't know how to process a refund on the bank terminal and suggested we come back later. We insisted again that it had to be done then, and waited another 15 minutes while he figured it out. Edit: After seeing my Google maps review, they messaged me on booking.com threatening to charge me the full price through the site. Good luck with that, given the chat history and the approved full refund. That threat just confirms this place deserves the worst review possible.

My wife and I stayed one night. The rooms were nice, the receptionist was kind and helpful, and the price was affordable. Breakfast was per person, pretty normal and minimal. It's away from the city center, about 10 minutes by bus, so I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have a vehicle. Keep your expectations modest and you won't be surprised.

Plenty of space and a friendly community.

The air conditioner is above the door, so by the time its warm air gets to the bed, it's already cold. And why build another wall beside the main one and hide the TV in there? What's the point, so I can't watch it? I don't get it. Then, at 2:49 AM, you woke me from my modest sleep to bother me and demand payment for the accommodation.
