The rooms are very basic, but the food was really good and the hotel staff took good care of us. We were two families travelling with kids, and horse riding was the main draw. It cost 25 euro per horse for two hours, and we had even more fun riding than we expected. We spotted lots of birds, sheep and horses, plus even a flamingo. We had hoped to take a boat trip, though there wasn't much water in the sea, so the tour might not be possible.

We ended up here after a thunderstorm left us stranded, not because we came to watch birds. It was quiet at night, but I can't really comment on the location beyond that. The staff were friendly, while the manager seemed more focused on selling us a boat tour. Breakfast was a decent, typical Turkish one. Still, the online price went up by a third when we arrived, and the old rooms had a musty smell. At €70 a night, I don't think what you get is worth the price.

There was nobody there when we arrived, and there aren't any signs or other directions on the way to Sultan Sazlığı. I definitely wouldn't recommend going in winter. We went to the Birsen birdwatching spot and the marsh too, and our vehicle got stuck in the mud.

We just stopped by Sultan Sazlığı briefly and couldn't stay at the guesthouse. It was lunchtime, so we didn't have long. The lake had lost a lot of water. We went through the museum and saw the different kinds of birds in the reeds.

With it being a national park, lots of activities aren't permitted. The dams have also kept water from flowing for the past two years, which has left the place with little tourist appeal.
