Theodora Village House

The family's warm welcome and the chance to experience local culture made this one of the most soulful trips I've ever had. The nature around the house is mesmerizing, and the food is homemade, locally sourced, and hard to put into words. If you're heading to Cappadocia, I can't imagine choosing another hotel. We had unforgettable days here.

An unusual night's sleep, and really good value. It's definitely away from the usual routes, but the host couldn't have been more welcoming or trustworthy.

It's a little removed from the main sights, which means you get plenty of peace. Our room was spacious, and having a pool of our own made it even nicer. The hosts were approachable and ready to help, and they adjusted the delicious food for allergies. All the best.

We found Theodora Village House while looking for somewhere near Sultan Sazlığı. The photos caught our eye, though we weren't expecting much from a small, little-known village and weren't sure we'd find dinner nearby. The hotel turned out to be much prettier than the pictures, with thoughtfully decorated rooms and a charming, authentic feel. Zafer Bey, his wife, and their children made us feel like family visiting from afar. Dinner was a real feast, with lamb slow-cooked in clay pots in their traditional tandır oven, local beans, and lots of side dishes. Breakfast was homemade too, with plenty of regional flavors. We were only there a short time, but left feeling uplifted. One special part of the visit was seeing Theodora Church, the hotel's namesake. Zafer Bey’s daughter Aylan Hanım, an archaeologist, showed us around and told the church's story through vivid memories passed down in her family. It felt magical. Theodora Village House is a place that stays with you.
