Eliya Pansiyon Restoran

Getting there means taking a pretty bad, winding road, and then they charge an exorbitant camping fee. There’s no shower or proper camping amenities, just parking and a toilet, yet the price is the same as an official site with all the facilities. When I said that seemed too expensive, they told me to go elsewhere. Don’t try camping here.

The rooms are clean and nice, and the staff are really friendly. Prices are very reasonable compared with other places in the area.

Birdsong around the property was a lovely change after the cities we’d been visiting, and the included breakfast was delicious, with some nice surprises. Our family stayed in a delightful detached cabin. It had an upstairs loft bedroom with a screened door, so cool, fresh air came in all night. The owners were very friendly. The road up is short but narrow, though there are plenty of pullouts and everyone takes it slowly, so it felt safe. The effort to get there was worth it. We really enjoyed our stay at Eliyah Pansiyon and highly recommend it.

The managers are great, the food is good, and the rooms are nice. Reaching the place is a bit inconvenient, and the location was the one thing that kept this from being five stars. It sits in a valley with limited views, but not high enough in the Kaçkar mountains to feel alpine. Even so, it’s a very pleasant place to stay if you’re nearby.
