Cuffie River Nature Resort

The rainforest setting is really special, and the food was very good. We visited in the quiet season and were the only guests, so having the place to ourselves was such a treat. Regina and all the staff were super helpful and friendly. They even baked us a delicious cake for our wedding anniversary. We went birdwatching with Desmond, who was super knowledgeable, and saw lots.

Birds are everywhere, and the hummingbirds didn't seem bothered by my attempts to photograph them. We were lucky to go birding with Desmond, a nature guide who knows the area like the back of his hand and has worked there for over 20 years. That says a lot about Regina, the owner. She's a magnificent hostess and provided anything we asked for. Thank you for welcoming us so generously. The peaceful, beautiful hotel in the forest surroundings brings a calm that restores your soul. It's worth every effort to get there.

Birds are everywhere around this lodge, with hummingbirds darting past and local birds coming to the trees and feeders. Desmond took us on a fabulous tour. Regina and her staff were so welcoming, and our room was spotless and comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious. A beautiful spot if you love nature and birdwatching.

We woke up to birdsong and water running over the rocks in the river winding around the property. It felt like a little heaven on earth. The staff were friendly and polite, and even accommodated our plant-based diet though it wasn't on the menu. Such a lovely experience, and a real hidden gem.
