Rovanel's Resort and Conference Centre

Breakfast was amazing, and Liesel, our server, was excellent. The grounds and pool are lovely, and the little zoo was a hit with my family. We stayed for the weekend, and the staff were kind and accommodating. Once they realized our elderly family member would otherwise need to manage the second floor, they quickly moved us to a ground-floor room. Our room was spacious and clean. A wonderful trip and a lovely place to stay.

The setting is lovely, with quiet surroundings, greenery and beautiful scenery. The staff were friendly, and my Deluxe room was clean and spacious, though a bit dated. There’s plenty of potential here, but slow business seems to have affected operations and cost cutting shows in the service. My room was a long way along the side of the pool, up a big flight of stairs and down another corridor, and nobody offered to help with my luggage. Breakfast was made to order, but when I was rushing to a meeting I found out that only fruit was available unless I’d called ahead. The heater needed repair, so I had a cold shower the first night. Dinner was salty and below par.

They even brought me plenty of grapes after the other fruit ran out, and breakfast was decent. The service was excellent, apart from the fact that there was no soap in my room. It was an easy trip from the airport and well worth the stay.

The outdoor setting is beautiful, with lovely scenery, a nice pool and a zoo. It’s also close to the airport, food strip, entertainment areas, stores and Store Bay beach. The rooms were spacious, but dusty; some bathtubs were rusty and the water supply was poor. Wifi in my room barely worked. Housekeeping was irregular, so we had to ask at the front desk for clean towels. Sometimes staff said they would see to it, but we still had to ask again before getting them. Some staff were lovely and others very rude. We were handed keys without directions and had to wander around the compound to find our rooms. Most of the walk to the rooms was uncovered. In the bad weather, the tiled paths and stairs were wet, and one person in our group slipped and fell. Thankfully, they only had scrapes, bruises and some soreness, with no serious injuries. Maybe our group was too much to manage. It wasn't a great experience, though not completely horrible. The rooms need upgrades and housekeeping needs to improve.
