After my flight was delayed overnight, I was exhausted and overwhelmed, but Regent Star Hotel gave me a calm place to recover. Since it’s so close to Piarco International Airport, getting there and into a room was quick. The staff were patient and kind, and check-in was easy, with no extra confusion after hours at the airport. The room was quiet, clean, and cool. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked, and there was hot water. Those basic comforts meant a lot, and I finally got some rest. Breakfast was ready in the morning, which helped me get my energy back before continuing my trip. This was an airline-arranged stay during an unexpected delay, and the whole experience was handled well. Regent Star isn’t a luxury resort, but it offered comfort, care, and reassurance when travel went sideways. Based on my experience, it’s a reliable, responsible choice for Caribbean Airlines and airport partners accommodating delayed passengers.

The hotel is in a good spot and was once well appointed, but it now seems seriously neglected. The reception staff, room amenities, and condition of the building were all poor, as others have mentioned. I needed somewhere by the airport for Feb 15th, and with Carnival night in Trinidad there wasn’t much choice. I paid GBP250 for one night, at least twice the usual rate. I sent three emails before arrival and got no reply. Such a shame.

A decent spot for a layover, given the location. British Airways put us locals here after my flight was delayed. It was a strangely quiet Friday night, especially so close to the airport. The place could use some upkeep or refurbishment, and maybe better advertising.

Caribbean Airlines put our group at Regent Star Hotel overnight after our Curaçao to Trinidad flight was delayed. It turned into one of the worst transit stays I’ve had. We landed around 1:30 AM, handed in our documents, and waited more than an hour for the shuttle. We reached the hotel after 2:00 AM. One person in our group uses a wheelchair, but nobody helped him get off the high-step bus. He had to lower himself to the ground and cantilever himself out, which was unsafe and unacceptable after a long day of delays. The rooms were unsanitary. Room 103 had a dirty bed with cockroach eggs, and a cockroach came out of the pillowcase. Room 107 had hair under the sheets, brown stains, mildew, and a foul smell. We were moved to Rooms 229 and 230, but the problems continued. I was bitten by bed bugs in Room 229. The next morning, the front desk agent on shift from 6 AM said they had called Caribbean Airlines 12 times without getting an answer or update. The shuttle didn’t arrive until 9:45 AM, just five minutes before our 9:50 AM check-in. They offered a $40 KFC coupon as compensation, with no alternative for vegetarians or people with dietary restrictions. It also felt like local citizens and international visitors were treated inconsistently. The lack of accessibility help, poor communication, dirty rooms, and inadequate response left us shocked. This was uncomfortable and raised serious health, hygiene, and safety concerns. Caribbean Airlines and Regent Star Hotel need to do better. I can’t recommend it, especially for passengers who may be vulnerable while in transit.

The hotel is handy for the airport, which was the main reason I booked while traveling for business. But a one-minute ride costs $5. The building and rooms feel worn and dated, and from outside the property looks as if it’s been empty for years. The bar shuts at 9 pm, with nothing to do nearby. Breakfast was disappointing too: two eggs, toast, and bacon, with no juice or fruit and no other choice. There’s a giant water feature inside that makes the air feel hot and smelly. Overall, not a good experience.
