The Hive Boutique Hotel

We ended our New Year stay with dinner on the rooftop, some pool, and a relaxed evening. I also loved unwinding by the pool, and we took a walk on the nature trail across the way. My sister had a birthday during the trip and was given special treatment more than once, which she really enjoyed. It was my sister, niece, daughter, and me, and check-in was quick even though we arrived late. We grabbed a light dinner at the restaurant, and the room was comfortable, though too cold for me. Breakfast was tasty and had a good variety. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout.

The rooftop pool was spacious, with seating, and there’s a large car park. A gas station and quick shop are diagonally across the road. My room was immaculate and kept clean, and I enjoyed my three-night stay so much I didn’t want to leave. Staff in every area were warm and pleasant. Breakfast was served until 10, with an open selection. Lunch and dinner at both the terrace and restaurant could use some improvement. The WiFi dropped now and then.

The pool was nice, but the restaurant experience was a joke. The set menu was ridiculously priced at 375, with no other options. I only wanted one dish and was told I had to take the full three-course meal, which was my only choice. The place has potential, but the staff’s attitude spoiled what should have been another week in paradise, and this was my second visit. At breakfast, people cleared out the trays with takeaway boxes, leaving nothing; they only refilled them every hour, so timing mattered. If you got there while the food was hot, you were lucky. When I asked the waitress about the food, she kissed her teeth and slapped down the menu as if I shouldn’t have asked. The WiFi didn’t reach the room, and the TVs were basic with no internet connection. Calling downstairs meant ringing three or four times, and getting a request handled was a bonus. We called housekeeping repeatedly and didn’t get service until the third day. Tobago is beautiful and well worth visiting, but I’d never recommend staying at Comfort Inn. The hotel needs to bring its WiFi up to date so it reaches the rooms and be more attentive to guests.

Jen made my stay especially memorable. Her bright smile, warm personality, and helpful, attentive service stood out right away. She went out of her way to make sure things were right, always ready with a kind word or a good recommendation. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and the room was spotless, cozy, and well equipped. From the moment I arrived, I was met with genuine hospitality. I had a wonderful stay at Comfort Suites & Inn Tobago. If you’re visiting Tobago, I highly recommend it, five stars.
