The 4 a.m. wake-up call, which I never asked for, was what really made me angry. Being woken for no reason at that hour was incredibly frustrating. The room was old, dirty, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Hygiene was awful, there were bugs in the bed, and I woke up with more than a dozen bites. I also had a serious allergic reaction. Hot water was unreliable, there was no heating, and sound traveled easily because the soundproofing was poor. There was no shuttle from the entrance either, so we had to carry luggage up a long slope. Honestly, one of the worst stays I’ve had.

It was adequate for the price. The hotel is in Alishan’s designated hotel area, which is relatively hard to reach because you have to go up and down stairs. Reception is at the hotel next door. Hot water is available only from late afternoon until early morning.

The location is great, and the rooms were quite okay. We’d read other people’s comments and were worried about staying here, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. A good choice for a short stay in Alishan.

We had a wonderful time here. It’s in a great location, was clean, and had a kettle for hot water for tea. They also let us check in early.

The hotel itself was passable, basic but fine for one night in Alishan. Breakfast was where the stay really fell apart. The voucher sends you to Yushan Yuan Restaurant, where the food was tasteless and the choices limited. It was dirty and chaotic with big tour groups around. At 120USD a night, I expected better breakfast. Please fix this. The rooms were okay, but the breakfast is why I’m giving it only one star.
