Dong Tair Spa Hotel

The hotel is older, but you can also bathe in your room, where the sink and bathtub both have hot spring water. Outside, there are several spring options, cold and warm pools for kids, a water playground and splash pad, a sauna, and three levels of hot springs for adults. Swimsuits and swim caps are required. There’s ramen, bamboo rice containers, and other food in the hot springs area, and you can boil eggs too. Restaurant options are extremely limited, but the hotel food is pretty good. Dinner needs to be ordered ahead for a set time. There’s also a snack area with crackers, ice cream, and coffee. A very relaxing hot spring experience.

The public hot spring is pretty decent, and the service was good, but the overall stay left a lot to be desired. The rooms are old and smell moldy. The shower only has hot spring water, so the sulfur smell is unavoidable there; cold water is the only way to rinse it off. That also seems to leave some disgusting-looking grime in the bathroom. It would be better to have a separate tap for spring water so guests could wash with clean hot water. The food is very standard, so you’ll need to look elsewhere for anything more exciting.

It’s a decent place if you’re coming just for the hot springs and spa, but not at all ideal for an overnight stay. The facilities are quite old, and the toilet in our room wouldn’t flush properly. There was no curtain or floor mat to keep the bathroom’s wet and dry areas separate. The bathroom hot water also smelled of sulfur, so they probably use spring water for the shower. That doesn’t make any sense.

The hot spring here is excellent, with outdoor springs and a swimming pool, plus an indoor spring for soaking when the weather’s bad. There’s a spa too, though some of its facilities are failing with age. The hotel also has karaoke lounges and pingpong tables, the latter near the hot spring changing area. The amenities are very good. My room had a slight mold smell, but that’s only to be expected in a hot spring facility.
