We found it easy to reach the hotel by bus from Chiayi HSR, despite taxi drivers approaching us with offers of 450-500 and repeatedly saying it was very far. Even a passerby came over and advised us to take a taxi. We weren’t in a hurry, so I checked online. It seemed to show no buses to the hotel, but I called and asked where to get off after reading about a bus stop in the reviews. The hotel said to take a bus toward Budai Harbor Township Office, about 2 km away, and offered pickup for 100 TWD. We took bus 7327 or 7347 from Chiayi HSR, though I can’t remember which because so many taxi drivers kept approaching us. In the end we paid 64 TWD each for the bus and 50 TWD for pickup. Actually, you can walk from Budai Harbor Township Office to the hotel in under five minutes. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. They provided face towels but no shower towels. There’s a local coffee shop nearby for dinner and breakfast, and it was nice and affordable.

It’s a comfortable room, with reliably hot water for showers. The owner was very hospitable. Even though it’s far from the city center, it’s still a great place to stay.

This happened on both nights. I’d turn on the hot water and get nothing for more than ten minutes. When the water finally came, it was completely cold, not even warm. I called to complain and was told they’d check, but the hot water still didn’t work. No one gave me any explanation.

We drove south for New Year and then made our way north slowly. My husband loves fishing, and we’d planned to sleep in the car, but it was too cold, so he suggested finding a room. We got lucky and found somewhere on the weekend! The place was clean and comfortable, and the owner was attentive, helpful and friendly. They have lots of different styles, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely worth staying at.
