A nice hotel, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful.

The hot pot dinner was a highlight, with very fresh lobster, oysters, and clams, plus wagyu slices that were incredible. At the restaurant, Ms. Liu (I think that’s her last name) gave us some of the best service I’ve had in a while. She explained the ingredients and how to cook them, then used the leftover hot pot stock to make the nicest porridge. I’d happily pay a lot just to have that porridge again, and her service made the stay even better. I’d give her 11 out of 10. We only stayed one night, but the resort left a strong impression. It’s beautifully renovated with zen-inspired ornaments and decor, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. They greeted us with delicious drinks and desserts while we waited to check in. Coming all the way from Australia felt worth it. It’s a superb experience, and I’d recommend this resort to everyone. Taiwan’s best-kept secret!

We first spotted Samiling Hot Spring Hotel on YouTube while I was in NY, and decided to visit for the hot springs at Sichongxi Hot Spring Park. Soon after landing, we took the high-speed rail to Zuoying and then drove two hours to this beautiful hotel. Just after Chinese New Year, it seemed we had the whole hotel to ourselves. Over three days and two nights we had one dinner and two breakfasts, with a generous choice of Chinese or Western food. The decor is elegant, and every corner looks lovely in photos. Walking around really feels like being on holiday. Service was so good it felt like home, and everything was clean and well maintained. The staff were very professional. Our room had its own hot spring bath, which was wonderfully relaxing after the long journey. I really recommend this hotel.

A lovely natural spring resort in a particularly nice area in winter, though winter is peak season. We were the only guests in the entire hotel when we visited in summer. The food was good.
