Ever Delightful Business Hotel

We booked a night before heading to Alishan for the day. The room had no window, but that was fine for one night. It was clean and fairly modern, with a decent-sized bedroom and bathroom, a fridge, a firm bed, and extra pillows in the wardrobe. Afternoon reception staff were very helpful and got our room ready early. In the morning, staff let us leave our bags until we returned from Alishan. Getting back was inconvenient. Since April is still off season, the last public bus left at 3 PM, so the alternatives were a 30-40 minute walk or a five-minute cab ride. The air-conditioning kept switching off. The gym is just a small room with a few pieces of equipment, so don’t expect much. Toiletries were limited to one small bar of soap and wall-mounted shampoo and shower gel, and we only got half a roll of toilet paper. One evening staff member was rude to my friend and wouldn’t help when we asked to leave our luggage while we went to Alishan, questioning why we’d leave it and come back for it. She also refused to help my friend check flights. I’ve never had hotel staff refuse that before. Ask for a room away from Chinese mainlander tour groups. Some people stood in the corridor in pajamas yelling to friends, then gathered in one room with the door open and talked loudly for two hours. My friend asked them to be quiet, and I eventually called reception to complain. The rooms are decent and the hotel is good overall, but it needs to provide more toiletries, especially for a business hotel.
