Wantai Hotel

The place had no musty smell, which I appreciated, and reception was very friendly. Parking is limited. We stayed in rooms 708& 705 for two nights during Typhoon Kong Re, on 30/10 & 31/10/2024, and were grateful for the free upgrade to two double beds. The room was a good size, though the bathroom has no shower partition, so the floor gets wet. That's just my opinion, but adding a partition would help. A few more clothes hangers in the room would be nice, too. Breakfast was the same both mornings: bread, fruit, porridge, noodles, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins. The woman serving us was very friendly. The second-floor breakfast area has a good view and was a nice place to watch people until 9.30am on the typhoon day. The nearby night market is about a 10-minute walk, with lots of places to eat around it. We don't have photos of the room, but we have others to share. Lol

The staff were super helpful, friendly, and nice during our two-night stay, and the room was comfortable. At first the air conditioning made it freezing, but after we called reception, a staff member showed us how to turn off the fan and brought an extra blanket just in case. The room warmed up after that. The hotel isn't very close to the main station, though a taxi there is easy and costs just 100twd. Food shops nearby are convenient. Breakfast didn't suit our taste and felt like a vegetarian breakfast. More hangers in the room would be helpful.

We had a lovely two days here. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the manager went above and beyond what we'd have asked for. Our newly renovated room was very clean, and breakfast was good quality, including freshly brewed coffee. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the train station is within walking distance. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was great, and the price felt good for such a clean place. I did have trouble in the bathroom, though. The toilet wasn’t working properly, and the shower handle was leaking.
