Good Harvest B&B

The small guesthouse is thoughtfully laid out, with a lovely connection to the outdoors. It has a Southern French countryside feel, and the second floor viewing terrace is especially restful, looking out toward Mr. Brown Avenue. When the lights come on at night, sitting outside and talking as a family feels warm and lovely. Our third floor room was simple and easy to take in, somewhere between a tatami room and a small loft. There’s a narrow spiral staircase up to it, so it’s not a good fit if you have large luggage. Outside the room, the wooden spiral stairs make a nice perch for one or two people to chat or zone out while looking toward the distant Central Mountain Range ⛰️. There’s even a retractable clothesline on the wooden wall, a really thoughtful touch for drying clothes 😍. It’s a lovely spot for running, reading, or having tea. Check in is self service, so you won’t feel disturbed, and they reply quickly through internet calls. At night, pet dogs may come upstairs on their rounds. I personally don’t like dogs, though I love cats. There are also very faint sounds from the wooden structure 🤣～🌿, which they say come from wood boring insects that are unavoidable in wooden houses. Btw, the owner has an incredibly cute kitten that isn’t afraid of people and comes up to guests on its own～😍😍 super cute 💞💞

I loved those slow days, cycling through the countryside and feeling close to the land. After taking a taxi here, I rented a bike and spent my time riding around. There aren’t many convenient food options, but that’s part of rural life, and I appreciated it. The host is a farmer and is often busy, though simple English is enough to communicate. Check in is self service, and he replies quickly on WhatsApp, so there’s nothing to worry about. If you like, talking with him about country life is really interesting. It’s a traditional Taiwanese old house, carefully renovated and full of the gentle charm of rural life. I often sat quietly in the main hall with a good book. There are cats wandering around, and coffee too.

The views over the fields were excellent, and there’s bike hire just around the corner. Jason was really helpful when we checked in. Having beers on the balcony was nice too!

Get the family room if you can, it has a fantastic terrace looking out over the rice fields. The B&B has lovely rustic charm and a fabulous view, with other B&Bs nearby. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Brown Boulevard is walkable, and there’s a golf cart style e-cart rental right next door. You do have to carry your luggage up some rustic stairs, but it’s worth it. There’s a separate parking space about 200 meters away, which matters in this popular area.
