Original About Bed and Breakfast

I booked four rooms for seven guests through Agoda.com for a stay starting March 3, 2025. When we arrived, the front desk connected me by phone with the owner, who said only three rooms were available because she had sold the fourth to someone else. She said she'd emailed me earlier that day, but I was traveling and didn't see the message until after arriving at 7 p.m. Being overbooked at the last minute left us scrambling to find somewhere else for part of our group late that evening. It was incredibly stressful and unacceptable. I told the owner that dealing with the problem was her responsibility and that we shouldn't be charged for a room she'd double-booked. Later, I found that my card had been charged for the room we never received. I disputed the charge, but the owner wouldn't correct it. To me, this showed a lack of accountability and disregard for fair business practices. I have always thought highly of the warmth and hospitality of Taiwanese people, but this left me with a very negative impression. The owner's actions seemed greedy and lacking in integrity. I'd strongly caution future guests to be wary of booking here, as I found this conduct dishonest and unprofessional. Update: Thank you for replying. Could you clarify your statement that one of the charges was refunded? (You said, “We also agreed to refund one of the charged orders! I don't know what you mean by saying there was no refund.”) My credit card was charged $61.84, and Agoda refused the refund, saying you had refused to issue it. Please contact me so we can resolve this.

We really enjoyed the third-floor balcony room, especially sitting outside to watch trains pass over the rice fields. Check-in was easy, and the staff were very helpful. They recommended a bike rental shop with high-quality bikes at a good price. The room and bed were comfortable, and we fell asleep to frogs calling. There wasn't a fridge in the room, but that wasn't a big problem.

The amber room on the third floor was a lovely place to stay in Chishang, with its high, open ceiling, balcony, and large bathroom. It felt cozy and comfortable, with quaint decor. Breakfast was included, delicious, and filling. A wonderful B&B if you're visiting Chishang.

The host was warm and welcoming, and the room was in excellent condition and very comfortable. From our third-floor balcony we could see the town and part of the paddy fields. The nearest convenience store is a bit of a walk, but that's understandable in a small town.
