San Ho Business Hotel

The location is convenient, a short walk from the interchange, with a gas station and Hi-Life across the street for food and other things. Breakfast is provided. But the room was unacceptable: right when I entered, I found several bits of hair and black dusty or dirty-looking marks on the bed. It looked like the sheets and comforter hadn’t been changed or washed after the previous guest. A low price doesn’t make that okay. Also, despite being called a motel, there’s no private garage. You park on the street within the motel grounds, so I’d describe it more as a business hotel with parking.

Breakfast was a filling Taiwanese congee buffet, and there’s also a breakfast shop serving steamed buns and mantou. The inn has a large carport, though not every unit has its own parking spot, and there’s even a washing machine by the entrance counter. This budget-friendly, Taiwanese-style place could be a fun way for foreign visitors to experience a road trip here. A gas station is right next door, and you can see the painted village and countryside nearby. The one downside for me was the air conditioning blowing straight onto my head 😅

We were able to check out late after calling because of other commitments, which we really appreciated. We also left something behind and came back the next day; the man at the counter was friendly and polite. The hotel is near an interchange, with a gas station next door and a Hi-Life across the street. We checked into room 503 at 5 PM. There’s an elevator, and breakfast is on B1 from 7 to 10 AM. It’s an older-style, conveniently located hotel with low prices and plenty of parking sheds. The cleaning needs more attention, though, since there was hair on the blankets and floor. I’d consider staying again when I’m in Tianwei, Changhua or Yunlin.

The service was good, and I had no trouble sleeping there. Still, it’s an old, run-down motel, and dust and grime seem hard to avoid. Three of us paid under 700 NTD per person for a night on a work trip. At that price, it was acceptable for one night, as long as you don’t expect much. The luggage racks outside make it look like the place used to be busy, but it seems to lack management. Some other guests said the beds were dirty and itchy, though maybe my room didn’t have that issue. The facilities are outdated and the rooms need more attention. With better cleaning and maintenance, the business could do well even without renovations. Given current prices, if the owner renovated and reorganized the place, it might have a chance to turn things around, especially with the interchange right next door.
