Dar Lon Hotel

The laundry service was really helpful, and there was a good selection at breakfast. I stayed one night at Dar Lon. A special mention to the woman on staff who helped me check out on the morning of 30/1. She suggested places to visit and eat, and arranged a taxi for me. As a solo traveller, I found it especially heartwarming that she made an effort to connect and made me feel at home. I recommend Dar Lon Hotel.

The staff were friendly and spoke a little English. Breakfast was pretty good, with both Chinese and Western choices, and they gave us complimentary welcome snacks too. The room was high spec, better than what I’ve had at most big brands, and even had a small balcony. There aren’t hotel facilities like a gym. There’s a massage option in a separate building, but we didn’t try it.

The breakfast changes daily and has lots of choices. My friend is vegetarian, so I asked for fried vegetarian rice and they made it for us. The service made us very happy. There’s also a welcome drink and a choice of fruit, cake, or ice cream at level 2 when you arrive, with drinks available free flow. Laundry is at B1 car park. You need to get the liquid detergent from the front counter first. They also provide motorbike and bicycle services, and there’s a foot massage centre inside the hotel where guests get a discount. We came to Hsinchu for a couple of days of work and really liked the hotel. It has a modern design, spacious rooms, and the whole building is very clean. The staff are nice and friendly, but none of them knew how to speak English, so we had to use translation. It’s quite isolated, and the rooms are really soundproof. Everything you need is in the room, including an automatic toilet bowl, which is very advanced. Highly recommended.

Good value for money, with a clean room and friendly, professional staff. At breakfast, they show cartoons off to the side for families who need a little distraction.
