Sol Hotel

I loved that tea, coffee, and snacks were available in the lobby whenever I wanted. Breakfast was basic, but just right for what I expected at this price. The room was spotless and much bigger than I expected, and the bathroom had both a shower and bathtub, which was great after a long day. Being near the train station made it easy to explore the city. For the price, the stay exceeded my expectations, and I really enjoyed it.

They even gave me a little cake for my birthday, which was a sweet gesture. The elementary school right across the street plays music every hour. Haha, it brought back old memories. There’s a gym and coin laundry on the second floor, and plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast pretty good.

I’d give it three stars at most, and there’s probably a reason it’s a three-star hotel. Maybe it’ll be better after the renovations are done. The rooms were below par, with no USB outlet, and the bed frame and mattress weren’t great.

The warm welcome from the staff really stood out during what had been a fairly stressful trip. Ms. Rainne and Ms. Weina Chen at reception helped us several times on our business stay, and the woman at the breakfast buffet egg station was very kind and welcoming. Their help made the visit much more enjoyable. It was my first time in Taiwan, visiting Hsinchu for a conference, and staying at the hotel made the trip memorable. The location was great and the rooms excellent. It’s also very close to a river park, which felt like a lovely spot to pause and enjoy nature.
