When we arrived, it was clear the room had been empty for a while and hadn't been cleaned before check-in. The sheets were dusty, with black grit-like bits on them, and there were only lizard bones left on the toilet floor. At 11 a.m. checkout, we asked if we could wait for our taxi in the lobby dining area because it was scorching outside. The driver said it would take 15 minutes, then got lost. The woman later asked us rather rudely when we were going to leave.

The soundproofing was poor and really put a damper on our stay. The owner seemed stingy and wasn't friendly either. I won't be back to this awful place 🙂

We were offered a four-person room when booking, with two large beds and no extra charge for children who didn't need a bed. At check-in, though, we got a six-person Japanese-style room instead. It was spacious, but the bathroom was an extension of the balcony, separated by just a shower curtain, so privacy was poor. We stayed two nights, and the owners were hospitable and put care into breakfast. With many guests on the first morning, there was a Chinese and Western buffet. The choices weren't like a regular restaurant's, but it felt thoughtful for a guesthouse. The next morning we were the only guests and got large individual set meals, more than we could finish, which made us feel bad about wasting food. The guesthouse sits among farmland with open, quiet surroundings, but the room soundproofing wasn't good. We heard footsteps upstairs and water running in the bathroom.

The only point I'd give this place is for the owner's organically grown breakfast vegetables. Otherwise, this was the most disappointing guesthouse I've stayed in. I paid to have a miserable time, and I'm still upset about it. I wanted a double room but booked late and could only get a quad room. My friend and I paid the same for quad rooms, yet theirs was much bigger, with a slide, a bouncing horse, a large bathroom, balconies at both ends, and working air conditioning. Ours had none of that and was smaller, about the size of another friend's double room with an extra bed. The air conditioning barely cooled, was noisy, and blew straight at us. Then we found a cockroach in the middle of the night, while my friend's room had a fairly large spider. At 6 a.m., kids upstairs started jumping around nonstop. Their upstairs double rooms had slides and bouncing horses and cost less, while our room had no such features and cost more. I later heard you have to ask in advance for a family room, but that wasn't shown on the website. Who would know? Prices ought to reflect the room type and its facilities.

The area around the first floor had about 18 tent groups chatting, and their noise disturbed the guesthouse guests. With poor sound insulation and little privacy, even changing clothes could make you worry about being seen or robbed. For the price, it felt expensive, especially since the tent guests paying a thousand dollars brought so much noise and made me much less likely to return. I hope the owner thinks carefully about how overnight guests and tent guests move through the property, instead of focusing only on making money.
