The ocean view from the balcony was beautiful, and waking up to the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean was unforgettable. Our room at Blue Ocean was clean and comfortable. Dongdamen Night Market is just a short walk away, with plenty of food and shops nearby. The common area had free snacks and drinks, a nice thing to come back to after exploring. Only regret is that we should’ve stayed longer!

Even in Hualien’s current off-season for tourism, this guesthouse showed real care and attention to detail. The rooms were clean and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

You can see your car from the room, and parking near the guesthouse is convenient. It’s well located close to the night market, with a lovely sea view. The beds and doors are well soundproofed.

There are about two rooms per floor, with three-meter ceilings, a simple warm color scheme, and plenty of outlets. The room was relaxing, with a bed that wasn’t too soft, and I could easily forget to get up. Housekeeping was excellent, the water pressure was strong for a spa-like shower, and even the toilet seat was warm. The first floor has a small social dining area, and the place is clean and bright. Staff at the front desk were incredibly welcoming. On a clear day, you can see stunning sunrises from this quiet city oasis near the North Coast Seawall. If you’re looking for a guesthouse by the sea in Hualien, I highly recommend it. Hualien city is a highly competitive seaside area, yet this place offers great value and excellent service. It’s warm and welcoming, and makes you want to stay.

I’ve been to Hualien many times, and this time I stayed at the Blue Coast guesthouse. It was clean and tidy, and even had a bidet toilet. The beach was less than 30 seconds away on foot. Highly recommended.
