Hualien Wazuka Homestay

The homestay sits in a quiet, quaint area, no more than a five-minute drive from the city centre. Ping was sweet and accommodating. We booked a very spacious quad room along with a single room, both clean and modern, with comfortable beds. The first-floor common room is roomy and has an equipped kitchen. I think I even spotted a karaoke machine near the TV. We can’t recommend this place enough and hope to be back very soon.

The kitchen was the best I’ve come across in my three months travelling in Taiwan: clean, well supplied with cookware, and fitted with a new sink, cooktop, dishwasher, and dish dryer. We cooked there, and used the Wi-Fi every day for uninterrupted remote work. Wazuka Homestay exceeded our expectations. The room, bathroom, and shared areas were all extremely clean and organized, and the location is lovely, with beautiful mountains to wake up to. Ping is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the local area and its indigenous culture. He’ll offer recommendations and go out of his way to make guests comfortable, while also giving people space if that’s what they prefer. We liked it so much that we booked another stay with him.

The house had a cozy, stylish feel and was beautifully decorated. It was very clean, and the peaceful atmosphere made the stay especially nice. The host was super friendly and helpful the whole time. I’d happily stay here again.

Waking up to the mountain view and the quiet of nature was lovely. The location is a little farther from the town centre, but the peaceful setting and views make up for that. For a unique stay in Hualien, Wazuka is the place I’d pick. Owner Mr. He went out of his way to make our trip smooth and comfortable. Our taxi cancelled on the last day, so he rushed us to the train station, and we only made it in time thanks to him. This will be our go-to whenever we’re in Hualien. 100% recommend 😊
