The host was nice and gave us very good advice about tours and nearby attractions.

It’s about a 10-minute walk to Dongdamen, which is really convenient. The 3+1 rooms are quite large, and the owner keeps the place clean. When I stay in Hualien next time, this will still be my only choice.

The room was spacious, with very clean sheets and blankets, a bed that had a good balance of firmness, and soft pillows. There’s a corner window, but traffic is almost nonexistent after 9 pm. The owner even thoughtfully provided earplugs for guests who are sensitive to noise. The shower had plenty of hot water!! This B&B is in the city center, so it’s easy to get around and find food. Famous Ye Xiang Wonton Shop is right next door, and Yi Wei Restaurant, the breakfast shop, is only a short walk away. I found the place on Google Maps and saw its extremely high ratings!! You can book through Booking.com or call the owner directly.

The exterior windows don’t block much sound, and the water pump kept making intermittent noise all night, especially late at night. It made it hard to sleep, though fortunately earplugs were provided. Some bathrooms have no exterior window or exhaust fan, so it’s difficult to clear the steam and dampness. Before we arrived, the receptionist proactively got in touch about our check-in time and where parking was available. The service was attentive.
