Mieh's Inn

Rebecca had great food recommendations, and we enjoyed trying them, especially bomb scallion pancake, which is a must-try for me. The husband and wife who run Mieh’s Inn were incredibly hospitable during our enjoyable two-day stay. Our room was tidy and clean, the amenities were comprehensive, and there were lots of food choices nearby.

In ten years of traveling, this is probably the best-run place I've stayed. Rebecca and her husband were caring and attentive, offering an extra-early breakfast, laundry, and free bikes. Rebecca even gave me tips while she was on vacation. I only got to stay two nights, but I'm glad I picked this place.

The bed was a little softer than I prefer, and there was no bathtub, but the room was clean and breakfast was provided. The owners were friendly and full of useful local tips, including their favorite places to eat and relax. They also helped us book our train tickets back to Taipei and drove us to and from the station. The place is central in Hualien, about a 15-minute walk from the night market, and bikes are available to borrow.

It felt like a second home, thanks to the welcoming hosts who helped with every question and went above and beyond. They arranged a train station pickup, bike rental, a special breakfast, and other treats. Highly recommend!
