Sleeping Inn

The room was spacious and clean, with a tub and a partial sea view. The hotel has nice amenities, including a massage chair, books to borrow, and a coffee machine in the lobby. The hosts were kind enough to arrange a taxi for us. Our stay was let down somewhat by breakfast and the lack of a shaded balcony where we could sit outside. Over our three nights, we were initially served pork, dairy, or eggs each day, even though we repeated daily that we don’t eat those foods. Maybe this was due to a language barrier; we used Google Translate, and the host’s daughter spoke great English when we checked in. The replacements weren’t very satisfying, with no suitable options like tofu. One morning we were given an empty sandwich with some floss and tomato. We hope they can better accommodate different dietary needs in future.

The couple running the hotel were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts let us try local food. When we went hiking one day, they packed us a filling sandwich for breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious, the view was beautiful, and it was easy to walk around Hualien. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

The room was clean and well looked after. Parking nearby was convenient, and Dongdamen night market is close. They also leave free snacks out at night, which is handy if you get hungry in the middle of the night.

This is a super cute B&B near the ocean, with lovely, very clean and quiet rooms and really comfortable beds. The Hualien local food was delicious, and the service was amazingly warm and kind. Highly recommended!
