The owners were always kind and helpful, offering coffee or water whenever they saw me coming or going. I was also glad to be near the World Gym, where day passes are available. I came to Hualien for a dragon boat competition at Lake Liyu, and this was a handy base: I could get to the event while avoiding city traffic, yet still reach the livelier parts of town. The walk to the city centre, with its night market, bars, and restaurants, was about 20-30 minutes. The place itself felt peaceful, which helped me get proper sleep before race day. There were two balconies, including one with a lovely river and mountain view. A nice balance of quiet and nature with the city close enough. I'd recommend it to paddlers coming for the 2026 CCWC competition too.

The riverside trails were a lovely part of our stay. The Qijiaochuan River in front of the B&B was clear, and the paths beside it were great for cycling, walking, or jogging. The location also made it easy to get to Hualien city center and nearby amenities. We stayed three days in a deluxe double room on the 4th floor. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The place has an elevator and free washer and dryer, and the owner makes all the cleaning products by hand, which made me feel safe using them. The price was very reasonable too. The owners were warm and helpful, and pointed us toward healthy, tasty vegetarian food. There was even a cool electric bicycle in the living room. After visiting Hualien many times, this is the B&B I've enjoyed most. It was a relaxing trip, and I'll choose it first next time I'm back.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the owners are so welcoming. After dropping off your luggage, they come down to the lobby and offer fragrant coffee or tea. Talking with them feels easy, like catching up with an old friend. The owner knows a tremendous amount about all sorts of things, which I really admire. Their suggestions for local food are also fantastic. Just remembering the delicious dishes makes my mouth water. 82 Inn is my top pick for a stay in Hualien, whether for one night or the whole visit. You should give it a try.
