Jia Dong Garden Homestay

The receptionist was so welcoming and kept pointing out things to do around Yilan. Our room was roomy and spotless, and the place felt peaceful. It made for a really memorable stay. If I get to relax in Yilan, Taiwan again, I’d stay here.

The owner has a quiet farm with sheep, geese, dogs, chicks, turkeys, birds, a big fish pond, lovely camellias and azaleas, plus different fruit trees. It made the visit feel especially enriching. Back at the guesthouse, breakfast was generous, the staff were warm, and everything was calm and comfortable. I had a great time and would definitely bring my family back. 💕❤️😊

The fresh Yilan air and the spacious, relaxed feel of the place were a lovely way to start the morning after our first night. We were 12 people in six suites, two to a room, and the beds were large. Each suite had its own toilet, fridge, TV, air conditioner, and wardrobe, so we never had to wait long for a shower or queue for the bathroom. The hot water and flush were both strong and steady. My husband and I like things very clean; the landlady supplied toiletries and towels, though we had brought two towels ourselves as well. We arrived on February 25, 26, and 27, 2023, during the 228 holiday stretch, and rented the B&B in Yuanshan Township, Yilan for three days and two nights. Three cars fit into the parking lot. The big hall had comfortable wooden tables and chairs, and upstairs there was an indoor hangout area with billiards, pool, and what I call hand speed ball. Rain kept us inside for nearly two hours at first, so we played games there before driving about 15 minutes to Quanlian for hot pot ingredients. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, and other equipment. We used an enormous bucket-sized pot and cooked enough hot pot for all 12 of us, with shacha sauce, soy sauce, onion, ginger, and garlic. Everyone liked the meal. Around 8 or 9, we set up our friends' karaoke machine in the living room, hooked it to the big TV, and sang. We had bought red wine, beer, and spirits at Quanlian. The landlady asked us to finish by 10 because we were probably disturbing her, but the younger ones kept singing until almost 11. My husband and I are middle-aged and couldn't keep up, so I went back to our room around 11 and tried to get sleepy. The double bed felt a little too soft for me since I prefer a firm mattress, so I’d give that first night 8 points. Still, there was plenty of room and no cramped feeling, just an easy vacation. It was cold when I got up early, and I wandered inside and outside taking photos to share with friends. The landlady had breakfast ready before seven. I was going to wash up and then get everyone moving at nine. 🤭🤭

We came back after four years and had an even nicer stay. Everyone, young and old, slept really well, and Ms. Huang, the housekeeper, gave us a warm welcome. Breakfast was tasty and nutritious too. We're already looking forward to visiting again, especially for the value. 😊
