The hosts from Taiwan and France made the stay pleasant, as long as requests were polite and reasonable. There’s WiFi, hot water, a fridge, board games, and historical artifacts in the common area. The building itself is an amazing three-sided courtyard house, more than a century old, and staying there felt like a home away from home while still being a holiday in a place that fit my dream of experiencing a traditional Chinese house. Simply wonderful!
The bed felt a bit hard for Westerners, but the room was quiet at night and well insulated against winter cold. It also has air-conditioning for summer. The classic-style building has been renovated with modern facilities, including a large bathroom and English-language TV channels. There’s a clean shared kitchen with a fridge/freezer and basic cooking tools, plus a second-floor terrace and a communal living room that feels authentic and is good for relaxing. The French host speaks Chinese and English, lives on site, and answers questions quickly. 7-11 is four minutes away.
The house is beautiful and gives you a large room with a modern bathroom for a great price. I was really happy with my stay and found the hosts very friendly. It’s an amazing place, though getting a bicycle or scooter to reach it is a good idea.
A fun stay.
My two kids had a great time staying here. The courtyard-style rooms were clean and comfortable, and I liked the stylish wind lion statue and French bowling area beside the guesthouse. The owners care a lot about the environment and ecology, and they take an active part in community renovation.
