The breakfast seemed to get watered down when tour groups were staying: the porridge, pork stew, cabbage, and cold tea all tasted diluted. The green bean or red bean soup dessert had very few beans in a pot of thin, barely sweet liquid. On weekdays, scrambled eggs with edamame were missing. The menu was the same few dishes each day, and those eggs seemed to show up only on weekends. On 19 Jan 2026, Monday, I booked a Twin room on Agoda, with windows facing the road and hills, as in the photos I had booked from before. At check-in, reception insisted I had booked a "Budget" room facing inside the building. They said the hotel was full and I'd have to pay extra for the road and hills view. Instead I got a stuffy room with ugly, dirty windows looking into other rooms. With the top of the window closed, there was no ventilation. If I opened it, the air conditioning escaped, but the room stayed stuffy because the building interior was cut off from outside air. There were problems in the room too. The air conditioning was weak, and when I mentioned it, a male staff member said, "It's like that. Wait a while for it to work." The Twin rooms I'd booked before weren't like that. The "rain" shower switch was stuck, the bedside USB ports didn't work, and the fridge rattled inside the cupboard. There were only two wall sockets at the makeup table. The gap under the door was much bigger than normal, so housekeepers with walkie-talkies and guests could be heard noisily outside in the morning. The door peephole was stuffed with tissue because its glass covering was missing.
