Beauty Avenue Inn

The room is small, almost cramped, but laid out well. The full bathroom is nicely done with quality materials. I'd come back, except hardly any buses seem to use this avenue, even though it's a major road, and the MRT stop is quite a hike away.

It's right in the centre of Kaoshiung city and stands out. The building looks recently built or renovated, and both the inside and outside are comfortable and well designed. On the ground floor there's an open self-service area with free coffee, tea, and bad snacks. Staff were friendly and professional, and happy to help with extra accessories. For a double room, the price was competitive, especially with the central MRT station five minutes away and the nearest night market a 15-minute walk. The room's bathroom was beautiful, modern, and well maintained, but it had problems that got harder to ignore the longer I stayed. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash came in packets, which was a minor annoyance. The bigger issue was the shower area: a flimsy curtain separated it from the toilet and sink, but water still covered the whole floor within minutes. A solid barrier beside the toilet, or at least some way to stop the flooding, would help. A wet towel on the floor can help for now. There were no shelves for bathroom items either, so with only the provided packets, I ended up putting the used ones on the toilet. Room cleaning can make these issues less annoying on a short visit. If you don't like frequent cleaning or are concerned about privacy, though, keep in mind there are no room safes either. I enjoyed my stay, but the bathroom flaws became more bothersome over time.

Everything else was fine, and the room had what you'd need in a hotel. For the price, I'd say it was good value. But I couldn't sleep well because my room was beside a toilet everyone could use. It was noisy, especially the pipes, and the soundproofing wasn't great, so I could always hear people walking by.

It had just opened in January and felt brand new. The place was very clean, with a first-floor sitting area offering free waffles, coffee, tea, and cookies. All the service staff were very friendly.
