The bathrooms were at least in acceptable shape, but the shared kitchen and dining space were dirty, including the dishes and fridges. Breakfast was very basic: toast, jam, processed cheese and ham, and egg salad. I felt ill on the only day I ate the egg salad. I can't be certain it caused it, though it seems possible. The coffee tasted odd too, and the machine looked poorly maintained. The dorms smelled awful, especially the pillows and duvets, which didn't seem to get washed often. My first bed was in a 16-18 person room, and the sharp, unpleasant smell was unbearable, so I asked to move. The 8-bed room was a little better, but the smell was still obvious. Staff were reasonably available and helped with the move, though they weren't especially welcoming.

We had a really good time here. It would be nice to have another bathroom on the first floor, plus a larger shared breakfast space with a bigger table where travelers could eat together. More room to stand would help too, perhaps with larger floors and higher ceilings.

***Stayed here in April 2025*** The common room is roomy and makes it easy to meet people. Beds are large, comfortable singles with privacy curtains. Breakfast is simple and free, with bread, jam, peanut butter, eggs, salad, and juice. The kitchen has all the equipment you need, though there is only one stove. Formosa Boulevard MRT is just a minute away, and the night markets and 7/11 are about 5 to 10 minutes on foot. The Wi-Fi barely connected in my second-floor room. There was no microwave, and towels weren't included in the price. Other guests in the dorm didn't seem to pay much attention to noise or lights.

The price, location, and staff are all really good. My luck with the roommate, though, was pretty bad. At 2:30 at night they were loudly on the phone with a friend, and I couldn't sleep. I normally don't write reviews, but with nothing else to do while lying awake, here I am. Worst roommate ever, haha.

Easy to reach from the station or metro on the way to the airport, and it was simple to meet other travelers here. The reception staff were really helpful and nice. I had a lovely stay, with good breakfast and bento places nearby that I liked, plus lots of tea shops. Good value for the price 🤙
