Hakodate Motel

I had a really bad stay because the room was seriously lacking in cleanliness. There were obvious stains and hair on the sheets and pillow, so lying down felt uncomfortable. There was hair on the floor too, and the room didn’t seem to have been properly cleaned. I felt uneasy throughout my stay. With cleaning like this, I really can’t recommend it.

The toilet was dirty, and honestly, nothing ruins accommodation like a filthy toilet. I didn’t even dare sit on it. I was also shocked when I opened up the duvet. Did the hotel not provide duvet covers, or were they trying to save money? They had used two sheets to wrap it, and as soon as I covered myself, the whole thing came apart. I thought about tying the sheets and duvet together myself, then decided it wasn’t worth the trouble for one night, especially with such irresponsible housekeeping. I won’t return unless they improve the toilet and duvet setup.

The location is very convenient, close to Hanshin Arena and Ruifeng Night Market, with a PX Mart and McDonald’s nearby. The receptionist was very helpful. But the room felt old and vintage, and it was so dusty that it didn’t seem to get cleaned regularly. The lighting was dim, and the bathroom light couldn’t be switched off at night, which was ridiculous. The bathtub looked disgusting, and I really didn’t want to use it. I regretted coming in as soon as I saw the room. At this price, I’d choose somewhere else. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

The bathtub is nice, but the decor feels so uncomfortable it almost makes me wonder if they’re trying to get rid of me.
