I booked through Agoda and paid cash at check-in. Later, when I tried to claim the cash back on Agoda, I found the booking had been cancelled even though we stayed for a night. The owner probably wanted to avoid the fee, but she never mentioned cancelling it, so now I can't claim the cash back. It felt like a very dodgy way to do business, which is why I'm giving one star. I reported the case to Agoda, and they asked me for a receipt. The owner only accepted cash and didn't give me one.

The owners are lovely and do their best to help. I stayed here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It's close to the MRT, night markets, and restaurants. I'll come again.

We had such a good trip, staying here for three nights with my family. The room and facilities were clean and well kept, and they were constantly cleaning. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, with someone available 24/7 if you needed anything. The location is great, about five minutes from the MRT, with a night market nearby for shopping. There are food stalls and convenience stores all around, so finding food was easy. I'd definitely recommend this hostel to friends and family. So happy we stayed here.

Everything was reasonably priced, and the owner was friendly and helpful with my questions and requests. The room was clean, had its own bathroom, and had enough space for two people and two suitcases, just as the website showed. There’s a pantry outside the room where I could refill my water. The location is handy too: close to Dansui MRT station, above a traditional Chinese clinic, and on a street with a western cafe, a vegetarian restaurant, a 24-hour laundry, a Korean restaurant, and a hair salon that also does manicures. There’s another vegetarian stall nearby that’s open for breakfast only. I’d recommend it.
