Kindness Hotel Jhong Jheng

There are some useful perks here: free washer and dryer on the first floor, coffee and snacks available around the clock, and a decent breakfast included. The location is close to a night market and between two subway stations. But the rooms are dated, mine was small, and the internet connection was unstable. I saw mold on the window, so I couldn't give it a higher rating.

They'll hold your luggage if you arrive before check-in, which was helpful. Breakfast is included, with a good range of options, and there's free snacks, drinks, and even ice cream. It feels like they've thought about those little things that make guests feel looked after. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, with clean, well-arranged basics and comfortable beds. There's enough room to rest, but keep in mind that hotel rooms in Taiwan aren't very spacious, so don't expect American-sized rooms. The warm welcome from the moment you walk in also made it easy to feel at ease after a long day of travel. I'd definitely come back.

Breakfast was a decent buffet, and the staff were generally friendly and welcoming. I also liked having unlimited ice cream, biscuits, and coffee at any time, and the hotel is fairly close to liuhe night market. We stayed two nights as a family of four. The room was basic and clean, but quite small for all of us, and opening a large suitcase in the tight space was difficult. The wifi was poor, probably fine for messaging, but not really usable for YouTube or livestreams.

I couldn't get the WiFi to work properly during my stay. It was extremely slow and kept cutting out, so checking email or browsing was almost impossible. I raised it with the front desk, but nothing was fixed while I was there. Reliable internet matters a lot to travelers who need to work or stay connected, and the connection made my stay very inconvenient.
