Watermark Hotel Kaohsiung Station

The hotel was very clean during our stay and right next to Kaohsiung Station, which was handy. The Wi-Fi was the big problem: it kept dropping, then stopped working completely about an hour before checkout on our last day. That was frustrating and didn't feel acceptable, so I'm not sure I'd recommend the hotel.

My room was very roomy and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and had everything needed. The location is great, right across from Kaohsiung Station but still quiet and peaceful. Family mart and several good restaurants are only minutes away. Friendly service, plus a simple but tasty breakfast buffet. The free washing machine was useful, though the dryers cost extra. I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in Kaohsiung.

The hotel is across from Kaohsiung station, which made getting around easy. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with separate toilet, shower and bathtub. The self check-in and check-out machine was easy to use. Nobody staffs the front desk from 11PM to 6AM except for emergencies, but that wasn't a problem for us. For the price, these were probably the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. Breakfast was included, served until 10am every day, and was fresh and tasty, with a good mix of Asian and Western choices despite the modest selection. The washing machines are in the room beside the dining area, and both washing and detergent were free. The dryers are small and cost 20NTD. Even after 2-3 cycles our clothes weren't fully dry, though we'd split the wet laundry between two machines, so keep that in mind.

It's across from Kaohsiung main station, and the ride to the airport takes a quick 20+min. You can also walk to the main city area. The rooms are on the small side but clean. My only issue was the tub: it felt like it might collapse under me while I showered, and water pooled up. If convenience is what you're after, it works well.
