We liked the free water and slippers, and the air conditioning worked well. The twin room was fine, though the beds were firmer than I prefer. There were free coffee and bananas in the upstairs lounge, plus crackers and cookies in our hallway. During Lunar New Year, traffic was bumper to bumper on our way back from the East Coast. We called because we were worried we might arrive after midnight, when there isn't front desk staff for check-in. They told us not to worry, asked us to keep them updated, and said they could wait until 12:30 if needed. We made it by 11, but knowing we had that extra time took a lot of stress off us.

The room was great, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Water pressure and temperature were both good, and the amenities included a full-sized hair dryer, comb, shampoo, body wash, and an in-room coffee machine. The second floor had some light packaged snacks, coffee, and a few fruits. We stayed in a loft-style room, which got hot upstairs. There could also be more luggage and closet space. The hotel itself is in a nice, quiet area, with Han shin mall about a nine-minute walk away. A new Taiwanese shaved ice place two blocks away was really good. There aren't many restaurants right nearby, though you can eat at the mall or take a taxi to other areas.

The room was clean and pretty, and there was a handy pantry stocked with drinks, snacks, and fruit. Reception was friendly and gave useful tourist information. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood.

Ms Xu was the highlight of our stay at Zela Design Hotel. She recommended places for lunch and drove us to them, then gave us a ride to the metro station at another time. Her hospitality made us feel very well looked after, and I'd happily recommend this place to anyone staying in Kaohsiung. I visited in March 2024. The rooms were super clean, and I really liked the shared lounge with its free snacks and drinks. Ruifang Night Market was within walking distance. We stayed for two nights, from the 16th to the 18th. The spacious room was very clean and felt new, and we enjoyed the roomy area with free snacks and coffee. The hotel is near plenty of places to eat and a night market, though the HSR station is a short drive, around 7-10 minutes. When we arrived, a friendly, professional staff member showed us the room and pointed out nearby eateries. I'd definitely stay again if I visit Kaoshiung.
