Harbor View Hotel

What I appreciated most was how carefully the staff looked after our things. We left for a four-day cruise and realized we'd forgotten some clothes and my son's headphones. The hotel had found them and kept everything safe until we got back. No fuss, just kindness and honesty, and it was a huge relief to return and find it all waiting. We had a double room and a quad room for our family. Both were simple and comfortable, though the double room's bed was lovely and soft while the mattress in the quad room was noticeably harder. The fourth floor has a free washer and dryer, which was a real help with all our laundry. The location was handy for walking to the harbour and night market.

I was unsure about the place at first because the exterior looked old, but the inside has been renovated. The room was clean, the bedding felt good, and the blackout curtains worked well. Even the toilet area was cozy, and the room was quiet. Breakfast was included and turned out to be a proper, filling meal. It's right in the center, and I really liked staying here.

You can get food on foot from this three-star hotel facing the port. The facilities in the rooms are fairly complete and clean, and the view from the seventh floor is nice.

The view from my room is the one good thing I can say about Harbour View Hotel in Keelung. I don't usually leave negative reviews because I figure most places are trying, but I'm still here and felt I should warn people. I woke at 2 a.m. with aches from the rock-hard bed. I asked the front desk about a softer one soon after checking in, and they said every room has the same bed. The carpet was visibly stained and dirty, and I didn't want to walk on it barefoot. With such a good location, the hotel could be much better if it paid attention to comfort and cleanliness.
