Keebe Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful. I felt too cold because the central air conditioning couldn't be switched off and I could only change the fan speed, so they brought me a heater that worked really well. The hotel is right by the night market stalls. Breakfast could improve: I stayed two days and it was almost the same both mornings, and the fried egg was dry and overcooked. Also, traffic can make taking a taxi to or from the hotel troublesome.

The location is incredible, near the local market and not far from the train station or bus stop. The room was comfortable, but the central air meant I couldn't change the temperature, and there was no lock on the bathroom door.

The room looked clean, but the constant cigarette smell and the noise made our stay really unpleasant. Once we turned on the air conditioning, smoke filled the room and lingered after we shut it off. Opening the door and window and turning on the bathroom fan didn't help. When we asked to move rooms, reception said all the air conditioning units were interconnected, so another room wouldn't solve it. They offered no further help, and the service was poor. The room also felt overpriced, probably because it's near the night market. I wouldn't recommend this hotel in Keelung.

I was impressed by breakfast: dumplings, a vegetable side, congee, assorted fruit, orange juice, soy milk, salad and toast. It was made there and changed day to day. The room had a coffee maker and a teapot with tea, and the rooms were clean. The service was great.
