Luyu Homestay

I went out for late-night food and left the lights and AC on. I was back after about an hour and a half, but both had been switched off. Someone must have entered my room and turned them off. That's disgusting and unacceptable. Watch your belongings and property, and think about your personal safety too. This hostel has some very strange management. I checked in around 20:00. 9/10/2021

I got the entry and room codes at 3:05 PM on February 25th, 2025, and was able to check in then. It's self-service, and the staff were friendly. I'd looked into things in advance and contacted the owner directly on Line, so I transferred the full room price before arriving. After checking in, I felt Lukang Guesthouse suited what we needed and was good value. The room was clean, especially the bathroom, which had a bidet toilet. It was 28 degrees Celsius when we arrived, so I turned on the AC right away and cooled down quickly. The shower had a strong spray, hot water came fast, and the wet and dry areas were separated. My family was very happy with that. Even when I went downstairs late at night (?) to wait for the car in the lobby, I didn't see any scary bugs around the kitchenette sink. Big thumbs up. My family and I were in Lukang, but I was traveling solo while they had work to do and had to leave at 5:30 am. We just needed an affordable, clean double suite and didn't need breakfast. I came early to leave my luggage, rested a bit, then went out and returned in the evening. My family arrived after work, so we didn't spend long at the guesthouse. I really liked the location. It's close to Lukang Longshan Temple and Dizang Temple, which made checking in feel convenient and reassuring 😂. Convenience stores, Lao Long Shi, a well-known restaurant chain, and Ah Zhen, another popular chain, aren't far either. It's quiet because the guesthouse isn't in a busy area. Lukang First Retail Market is less than a ten-minute walk for breakfast, and Tianhou Temple took me about twenty minutes on foot. That felt pretty close to me XD. Bikes are available to rent, but I walked everywhere. The lobby (?) isn't very large, and neither was our double room, though it was enough for us. If you like big rooms or lobbies, or want to be greeted and chat with the owner, keep that in mind 😂. I didn't chat with the owner on Line. This isn't a hotel, and it doesn't have hotel-style decor. It felt more like my own place or a friend's home. Nothing fancy, but the price reflects that. I went on a weekday after the Lunar New Year holiday, and the small suite was very affordable ❤️. Some of the guesthouse information is out of date, so it's best to ask ahead and go by what the owner tells you. Ask the owner directly about parking. We walked and took taxis, so we didn't need it. The room's TV has four channels, which my family loved ❤️. She doesn't like those high-tech TVs, haha. If you need a clean, affordable place in Lukang with hot showers, Lukuyo is a good choice!
