I had such a good time here and in Jiji. The owner's suggestions for food and places to see were so good that I followed them, and I could really trust his knowledge of the area. He makes you feel welcome, both at the hostel and around Jiji. The location is good and the place is clean. Honestly, 10/10 for everything I can think of. A must-stay in Taiwan!
I've stayed here several times and have always been happy. It's very convenient to get here from the train station, and nearby you can walk through the countryside and breathe fresh air. Each visit, I've also had painting lessons for a very low fee. The host is a famous painter, patient with teaching, and I got to take home some great pieces.
It feels more like staying with a friend or family than in an anonymous hostel, which is such a nice thing to find while traveling. The place has a warm, personal feel, full of objects, pictures, and mementos, with lots of character. I loved staying there and would happily come back. Merci !
