The grounds were lovely, the rooms gorgeous, and the forest nearby was full of wildlife and nature. The food was outstanding, and the owner and his family made us feel so welcome. Even after three nights, we weren't ready to leave. Such a peaceful, refreshing getaway at Bamboo House!
Getting there takes you quite deep into Zhushan, but once you arrive it's a lovely place to explore. I had a great chat with the owner, who cooked our meals. And somehow, the bamboo shoots he made even got me to like them. One of the best meals I had in Taiwan!
Our basic room was clean and comfortable, with both a shower and a bathtub. We slept really well during our January visit and had no complaints. The nearby mountain area is easy to explore, with amazing views, and this place is so special and peaceful. Thank you to Winston, his lovely host family, and their welcoming animals. Fresh, delicious meals were prepared with care and served on unique handmade ceramics. They really do care. Good local tea and simple coffee are available for self-service 24/7. The family helped us get around the area, and Winston, the owner, speaks basic English. We hope to visit again. Thanks again!
