The Chitou Lemidi Hotel

The room had great views, and the hotel was in a pretty good spot for active guests. It was a quick 8-10 minute uphill walk to the forest park. I had a great stay at le midi hotel! I didn't get to try the sauna or pool on the B3 level this winter, but hope to come back with my family soon.

The welcome T the team gives arriving guests is a lovely touch, and it made the experience feel special. The staff are clearly doing their best to help tourists have a good stay. I really appreciated it.

The poolside waterfall is gorgeous, and my child had a great time in the indoor play area and movie room. I didn’t try every facility. Getting to the Xitou nature area took a bit of effort: it’s about a 25-minute uphill walk, and there’s no paved path, so a hotel shuttle would have been helpful. Once you’re up there, it’s easy to get around, including to Monster Village. The Le Midi still has plenty of beauty, though the rooms feel a little dated. It must have been grand in its heyday. After seeing some truly bad hotels during our two-week Taiwan trip, I wished the other places we stayed had been like this one. I’d come back if I visited the area again.

The night bar’s Filipino performers were a real highlight. The pianist, sax player, and singer were all talented and professional, and I especially enjoy classic English songs and music. It’s among the top one or two performances I’ve seen in Taiwan so far. I took off a star because my room didn’t have a bathtub, which was disappointing for a hotel like this.
